Public Health Social Media Challenge Expert Q&A Session

Due to high demand and an enthusiastic response to the Public Health Social Media Challenge Expert Forums in April and June, Canada Health Infoway hosted a Public Health Social Media Challenge Expert Q&A Session on Wednesday, August 13 from 1 p.m. to 2 p.m. ET for Challenge teams.

The Expert Q&A Session was open to all qualified teams and featured a panel of public health, communications, and social media experts who responded to questions submitted in advance by teams.

Meet the Experts:

Colleen Young is the Manager of Engagement and Social Innovation at ELLICSR, Princess Margaret Cancer Centre, UHN. She is an online community manager who builds virtual health communities that thrive. She is the Founder of Health Care Social Media Canada (#hcsmca) and the Community Manager for Canadian Virtual Hospice (virtualhospice.ca) where she has built a sustainable community for patients and caregivers seeking online peer support at the end of life and through bereavement.

 

Cameron BWDr. Cameron Norman, Dalla Lana School of Public Health, University of Toronto

Dr. Cameron Norman integrates design, systems thinking and evaluation to help health and social innovation enterprises navigate complexity and create vibrant, healthy organizations and communities. He is the Principal of CENSE Research + Design, a health innovation consultancy, and is an Adjunct Professor of Public Health at the University of Toronto.

Prior to beginning his doctoral studies, Naqaash worked as a Technology Consultant at PwC, and advised clients across a number of industries on how to develop social, mobile and digital commerce strategies.
