By: Dr. C.R.Clarke MD, MBA, MSc (Comp Sci), BSc (Math)

“You’ll have to make another appointment; I don’t have your reports yet”; a devastating experience for a patient attending their first appointment at a Cancer Centre. The One Record One Patient system, initially planned over 10 years ago hasn’t happened. It can be implemented using existing technology and standards. But a new approach to the OPOR is necessary, incorporating: 1. A Generalized Architecture. 2. A Database-Driven website. 3. Patient Centricity. 4. Privacy Emphasis.
