Montréal, QC – As a Communication Manager in a healthcare organization, I am very interested in ICT innovative tools that bring new solutions to healthcare system most complex issues. While public investments in digital health reflect all the importance of this future trend, implementation challenges may occur as the organizational culture needed to use these technologies and take advantage of their benefits is not fully developed. In order to improve awareness of this type of initiatives, I created the “Communication Santé 2.0” website, where users can discover and reflect on new technologies usage in a healthcare context. This site received HONCode certification, among other accreditations, and is recommended by the Ordre des infirmières et infirmiers du Québec. This initiative proved to be beneficial for my career as I was selected among the 50 finalists in the Canada Health Infoway’s ImagineNation Ideas Challenge for a collaborative platform project, and was invited to publish a chapter on social media use in mental health in a Université du Québec à Montréal composite book titled “Internet et santé. Acteurs, usages et appropriation.” I also gave a presentation on the same subject at the World Association for Psychosocial Rehabilitation Conference in 2012 in Milan, Italy. I am invited as a panelist to the international symposium “e-Santé : opportunités et enjeux pour les patients, les professionnels et les organisations” that will take place next October in Montreal as part of the “International Conference on Communication in Healthcare (ICCH).”
