Parachute is a national organization that raises social awareness among Canadians about injury, and provides injury prevention resources to public health professionals. With a unified voice, they help Canadians stop the clock on predictable and preventable injuries.
Parachute launched the Stop the Clock initiative to drive awareness on the issue of preventable injuries as a public health burden, and to reflect on the social, physical, and economic consequences of injuries in the Canadian population. The campaign used social media, traditional media channels and digital formats including video and email to help fuel their campaign. Along with Facebook posts and tweets on their corporate pages, Parachute used Facebook ads to further their outreach. With a successful campaign under their belt Parachute has learned the value and power social media holds to connect with a captive audience and plans to continue their social media presences as the campaign continues in to 2015.
