ParticipACTION is a national not-for-profit organization dedicated to inspiring and supporting active living. They are the national voice of physical activity and sport participation in Canada.
Many Canadians spend their days sitting at their desks resulting in low physical activity levels. To help Canadians become more physically active throughout their workdays, ParticipACTION initiated Sneak It In Week. The campaign asked Canadians to think of creative ways to incorporate physical activity into their days – wear sneakers to work, walk at lunch or park a few blocks away.
The campaign was promoted predominantly through social media and was supported by public relations efforts, digital media ads and communications from like-minded organizations. Participants were encouraged to share how they were “sneaking it in” via Twitter, Facebook and the ParticipACTION blog. Tools were available on the website, which included a poster, tips to “sneak it in,” a guide to Sneak It In Week, desktop wallpaper and the Sneak It In logo.
